I can't comment on the accuracy of this statement because I haven't seen
the spec sheet of the XR parts. However, Polyfusion used the XR2207 as
the linear VCO core in their modular VCOs. They covered over the chip
ident markings on the chip's surface with a dye of some sort, but you
can see what it is by holding it up to the light and the slight
embossment of the print shows up.
