Ken and List,
The Westinghouse synthetic mica process produces fluorine-rich mica 
which should have better high temperature stability than hydroxyl-rich 
micas. But probably any plastic film cap would deform or melt well below 
the temperature at which OH or F-rich mica would begin to have problems.
