Hmmm... for just the filter or for a large synth....

Simple power supplies can work well, but a 723 based linear supply
like a PowerOne could be had surplus for maybe $15 (USA)... so I
would not worry too much.   From a well regulated source, its easy to
make whatever additional voltages you need (+10, -6 whatever)
