[sdiy] source of useful chassis

hi all,

I am quite blessed to be living almost next door to the salvage store for a 
giant university. every so often the various engineering depts. there 
offload alot of very interesting used electronic equipment. some of it is 
quite usefull as is if it's test equipment. but alot of it is custom made 
lab equipment used for some unknown purpose but is housed in very nice 
expensive well made chassis'. I now have collected some of the MOST killer 
future-synth chassis' I could dream of. I am quite set for the next several 
synth projects I build. however I see really good stuff there every week and 
was wondering if you peeps would appreciate it if I brought some of these 
gems to your attention every week or 2.

today I saw 5 3U modular euro-rack chassis' housing what appears to be some 
computer networking stuff. I went and priced this chassis in Digikey's 
catalog and they go for over $160 new. these are good clean units and 
perfect for a modular system once you remove the proprietary backplane and 
remove the networking modules. I can buy them for $5 a piece anybody want 
em? tomorrow and friday are the days the store is open to the general public 
so let me know. I might just buy them anyway and post some pics...
