::  A previous cat destroyed one of my synthesizers by chewing up the
:: wiring (he got inside the box through a hole)...I am still in the
:: process of trying to bring that up again.

Seriously, isn't this a psychological "cat" thing?

Your cat sees you paying more attention to another object than to itself,
thusly the object in question "must be destroyed".

I've got a dog like this, though it normally stays outside. As long as
you're petting her and ONLY her at a particular moment, all is fine.
Anything I touch in front of her, if it ain't her, is suddenly the object of
a search and destroy mission on her part.  You'd have to see some of the odd
behaviour to believe it....
