Most of the circuits you mention - (frequency shifters, waveshapers,
distortions, delay modules, etc.) - would fit under "modulators". I meant that
to be a generic modulator (a module that takes an input audio signal and does
something to it). A phaser is actually another type of VCF (all pass filter).
And of course the obvious one - ring modulator.
