I second you.
Have to dust off my 10 year old educational technology hat here, but I've
been at similar projects before.
There will (hope fully) many writers on this project.
This means there will be a lot of different (educational) stiles and
visions.
Probably the best way to bring those all together is not trying to bring
them together to start with.
The result will be a collection of articles covering a wide range of related
subjects.
What is nice about a collection of articles like this, is that you can index
them and then structure for different target groups afterwards.
The simplest way to structure is making a TOC for beginners, a other TOC for
mathheads, and so on.
For example the mad-h... err, math-head TOC may ignore the basics and only
organize in-depth articles with cool formulas.
While a beginners TOC might follow a elaboration structure, starting with a
overview, then digging as deep into the subject of VCOs as the reader likes
to go and then place this back in the broader context of "what is this synth
thing anyway?" before moving to "do I need a VCF".
Same principle can apply for making a "how to build my first synth" guide
or a "everything you wanted to know about decoupling but where afraid to
ask" out of the articles available.
A more advanced dynamic guidance though the articles based on interest and
level is also possible,
but may require much work in setting up a association database between
(parts of) articles.
So my point is, for now forget questions like "what is the target audience",
"what content shall be included".
Instead just start writing the article _you_ think _must_ be in there.
One last remark though; short articles are better suited for this way of
working than 40 page essays.
Just some thoughts,
Theo
