[sdiy] Prophet 5 midi ?'s

Hello All,
Can anyone detail for me what scheme is typicaly used to interface a non-midi
analog Prophet 5 rev.2?  I'll assume that for midi in/out capability, we must 
break
the DAC connection and obtain/insert CVs before analog CVs are multiplexed to
their individual VCOs, VCAs, etc.  What method is used to identify and synch
each CV for processing?
