why? Are they already programmed? Maybe there's a chance
they are ampty? Then you'd have lifetime supply of eproms.
Who needs to erase them anyway if they're for free :)

unles you don't have a PBX in your basement, or even better, a central
office, you can use'em as a doorstop. They could've been used to power
"modern" 74xxx circuits forming "advanced" brains of a central, which
is usually powered from -48V, and that kind of voltage would cause TTLs
to work a bit too fast ;) hence converters.
