This is not what you want, but should be interesting.
A toy instrument by Yamaha:

Unfortunately, all the contents are in Japanese.
- No string
- Neck has full of switches and LEDs
- The LEDs flash according to the song data stored in the instrument
(Similar to keyboards with LEDs. One hand play is possible.)
- Tremolo arm
- Loudspeaker (Amp is not needed)
- 20 tones (guitars, basses, Japanese string instrument, banjo, and
piano ;-)
- Midi in/out
- Around 200 US$
