[sdiy] SIP to DIP Conversion

I think it would be a lot easier to just obtain another suitable SIP
op-amp. If you cannot get hold of the original opamp from Yamaha
(without them messing it up, that is) then maybe you can substitute
something else that is pin compatable. Unless, that is, you're in a rush
to fix it - which is understandable. It's a pain when you wait for a
part or something to arrive and find that it's wrong. Maybe the list can
offer suitable alternatives if you let us know what the original opamp
was.

I guess that to get it up and running NOW, Seb's stripboard idea would
be best... Otherwise, have a moan at Yamaha.

Anyway. Nothing will, ever, ever, ever beat the time when Roland sent me
a bare 40-pin DIP IC in a little jiffy bag with absolutely no other
protection at all - no carrier, nothing - and the IC survived, pins
unbent.

Subject: [sdiy] SIP to DIP Conversion

Does anyone know of a vendor that makes an adapter
that will allow an 8-pin SIP (Single Inline) IC
to be replaced with a 8-pin Dip (Dual Inline) ????

I have a Yamaha CS-15 that has a dead 8-pin
SIP op-amp. The replacement that Yamaha sent
me was the DIP Version of the same op-amp....

You can see my dilemma....

Cheers,
