sorry, I forgot to mention a few things...
there would only need to be one string going up the fretboard, because the mc202 is monophonic, and the trigger buttons will also transpose the note. prehaps your thinking too much of a guitar, I'm thinking of some thing that is halfway between a keyboard with a kneck, and an actual guitar (with  midi pickups or what ever...)
