[sdiy] Prophet 600 envelopes / dac / multiplexing operation?

Hi,

Does anyone know how the Prophet 600 envelopes work?

They're software generated, and visually, it looks like:

Z80 -> DAC -> 4051 mux -> buffer/follower -> CV in's on a 3372.

Shouldn't there be a sample and hold synced up with the MUX?  Or is the
DAC outputing 8x the value to accomodate the 8 outs?

p.s. I always thought it would be fun to mod the 600's envelopes to have
a punchier sound, and the other day someone posted the roms to Analogue
Heaven...
