[sdiy] analog switch question

I am about to incorporate an analog switch for the first time in one of my
DIY projects. I am using the DG213 because I have some, it meets my needs,
and I have some limited experience with it. I am looking at the data sheet
to determine the appropriate control circuit.
It appears to me that the turn on voltage is not critical. It seems that if
I am above the threshold and protect the control pin from both negative
voltages and excessive current, the exact voltage does not matter.

If one has any sage words of wisdom to offer (dos and don'ts), please feel
free to insult my intelligence. :) I am planning to switch audio with the
switch, and I do understand that the turn on state has resistance to it.
That is not a problem the way I will apply it.
