Hmmm, good point.  This point and the fact that there doesn't seem to be any
noticeable differences of output quality in the two methods puts me in the
multiplexor camp for now at least.  

OTOH, the separate dac per cv scheme could be expanded more easily.  A small pcb
with say 4 dacs and a latch for gates and triggers could be added to an
existing bus.  A few software tweaks later and you've just added another
voice.  Some dacs come four to a chip with output buffers already included.

But I should start simple.  Shouldn't be thinking too big at this stage...
