[sdiy] How much power needs an ASM1 ?

Long ago I measured 80 milliamps on +15 and approximately the same on -15,
for the circuit board only (the panel controls will add to this). Therefore
a pair of 78xx regulators should be fine for the whole mess, as long as you
have heatsinks (and you don't use 1K pots for all of the voltage divider
panel controls!).

On the mains side, I'd do this:

36 VCT transformer, at least 2 amps
Bridge recitfier - 2-5 amp bridge module, or (4) 1N4001 etc. power diodes
1600 and up electrolytics, 25-35 volts, 50 OK

Some would prefer the use of 723-based supplies, like a PowerOne pre-made
supply. The 78xx-based power supply would work, but the pre-made supply
would be laboratory-quality.

Best Regards,

- Gene

It´s me pesting you gurus again,

you know that i am building this 2 ASM1´s for a friend. How much current
will a completely stuffed ASM1 board require from the P/S ?

I think a simple 7815/7915 combo will do it, but how big a transformer will
i need ?

TIA !
