I have built a small  +/-12v powersupply for a minisynthesizer. It is 
5x6,5x3 centimeters including mains transformer, smoothing 
capacitors, connection terminals and a fuse . It is built on
veroboard and uses selected 7812 and 7912 voltage regulators.
