Every week I sneak into your house and fiddle with its innards.
Have a nice day.

Subject: [sdiy] very ot...home wiring / grounding???
hey all,
helping my brother in law troubleshoot some electrical problems.
yesterday when testing an electrical problem (no bathroom light or fan),
both conductors on the light were "hot", and 2 of the 3 conductors on the
fan were hot as well (i didn't have a meter handy, but had a neon light
electrical tester). i thought there was a wiring problem, and was prepared
to re-wire today.
today, all seems to be as it should...one hot wire for the light, one for
the fan...nothing else has changed.
since we have had quite a bit of rain recently, it seems to me it is likely
something weird with a ground fault interupt and the wet weather...anyone
have any ideas?
