Unfortunately, I sold my Juno-6 about two years ago so I cannot verify this.

Anybody know how I can take this futher, or where to look?
Thanks, Alex

Alex, I own a Juno 60, a Kenton pro-2000, and the Roland MIDI to DCB
converter model MD-8. I can shed a little light on this for you.

1 - It is true, the Kenton pro-2000 can do DCB. However, you must order it
as an option as it does not come standard in the pro-2000. I don't know the
cost of the option. But, the Kenton pro-2000 is fairly expensive itself
(over $400). If you don't need it's other features (control voltage), that
is pretty expensive.

2 - The DCB on the Juno 60 supports nothing but note on and note off (and
maybe sustain I think). Even the patch change that is supported in DCB for
the Jupiter 8 is not implemented in the Juno 60. So, any converter that
simply connects to the DCB port is going to give you VERY limited
capability.

3 - MD-8s are rather difficult to find. But, I would look for one at a
reasonable price as your easiest solution.

4 - I don't know anything about the MIDI retrofit. That might be a better
way to go if you get more control. It certainly cannot be less than the DCB
option. :)

5 - The Juno 60 note on /off receive in OMNI ON. So, you cannot select a
receive channel. You need some kind of MIDI filter to channelize it. I use
the MIDI Solutions box. It is a million times better than the Anatek pocket
filter. That feature might be built into the Kenton DCB add on for the
pro-2000. I don't know since my pro-2000 is not so equipped.

AND, finally, I am just seeing that you said 6 not 60 (Geesh). I don't
think the 6 has a DCB port. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I hope this information is useful. E-mail if I can help with other
questions.
