Dear JH,
    Yes, you're right.  The spec sheet on the NSL32 says 500ms decay time.  I
use the NSL32B-103 for audio compressors, for the very reason of that slow and
forgiving release time.  I may have got my recollections wrong on the part
number, or the sales rep may have been jerking my chain, but nevertheless he was
pretty excited about this "super" opto-isolator which allegedly had none of the
speed shortcomings of the typical unit.  It was supposed to be as fast as any
VCA.  Probably have to contact Silonex again to get the straight dope.  Sorry
for the confusion.
