[sdiy] Korg MS20 Noise problem

Hi Folks,
    I hope this subject is not too far off-topic.  There seems to be a noise
problem witht he MS20 I have gotten a hold of.  If the VCOs are turned all the
way off and a key is struck to open the VCA, I get what sounds like a very
crunchy white noise bomb-type sound.  I'm not being nit-picky here--it's loud and
clearly audible even when the VCOs are full up.  This isn't normal is it?  I'm
wondering what the problem might be and whether I can get inside and fix it.  I
would like to correspond (off list) with any other MS20 owners out there about
fixing this, and also about the wisdom of  possibly upgrading this machine with
better opamps and the like.  Thanks very much.
