No micro in the Serge. just regular CMOS.

I am not convinced that the Serge is the end all be all, it is just a 
really simple and effective way to do this kind of circuit. The Buchla 
designs use WAY more parts.

IMHO he should drop the individual voltage outs and give it MIDI. Still 
have a main CV and gate out, but who really needs 25 CV outs? The pulse 
outs maight come in useful fromt ime to time. the world could use a MIDI 
touchplate keyboard.

I get the feeling that many of Doepfer's modules are not all that 
intelligently thought out. It seems to be a stress of the low coat and 
quantity of modules available. Not on how powerful each module is.

the good news is that, even if it is the SAME circuit as a Serge, now 
the $1500 Serge TKB is no longer then only one on the market. I would 
guess that the inclusion of a sequencer function in the Doepfer one is 
only there to make his appear to be on the same level.
