Ouch, this one caught me out! I noticed the difference between the two diagrams (actually, I think I used the Boss handclapper circuit, not the 808 IIRC) but because the circuit seemed fine to my ears, I presumed it was an intentional component change (not had a real 909 to look at, unfortunately). I shall substitute the resistor on my handclap circuit tonight. Judging by how my HC circuit sounds at the moment and looking at the 909 schematic, I'm guessing that this value isn't greatly critical.
I'm really glad this thread started...
