If you play with Spice at all (like EWB)... they are current controlled
voltage sources.  If I had known that years ago (and understood it -
teehee)
I'd have used them a lot.

If your signals are best expressed in terms of current they are great.
As audio
op-amps they suck IMHO. A really good use is in an ARP filter
(schematics at
Joachim Verghese's site "ArpTech")  and another is in the Serge
waveshaper (or
clones thereof - like the EFM Wav1b)
