[sdiy] Mono in mono vs mono in stereo

Ok, This just occurred to me, and this seemed like the place to find an
answer, so:

Say I take a mono signal and put it through a mono channel on my mixer,
center pan.  I also put the same mono signal into a stereo channel (or 2
monos panned hard L + R... whatever).

What are the differences between the two outputs, other than different
volume levels?
