Hell, even better, just do the whole thing with a MIDI synth and sequencer.
After all, there's a Flute patch in the General MIDI set.
Seriously, though, for the details on theremin capabilities, better to
check with a Thermin player. This list is nothing but a bunch of
wire-heads. (And I say that with the utmost love and respect.)
I think a really good therminist should be able to start out on pitch
(though how they do it is beyond me.) I think "Flight of the Bumblebees"
had best be left to the violin and kazoo players, however.
