[sdiy] Attn Theremin lovers! [part deux]

Peter,

Question: Do you really want someone playing Theremin, or do you just want
something that sounds like a Theremin. If all you want is the sound, then
you can get exact pitches and quick articulation by using a regular keyboard
synth. Any programmer worth his or her salt should be able to dial up a
patch that sounds very very close to a Theremin. However, if you really want
someone playing Theremin (perhaps the visuals of the performance are
important to you) then you're going to have to search around for a Theremin
virtuoso. They are not easy instruments to master.

Best regards,

You guys read my mind!

I am in need of some practical technique tips on the Theremin, as I am
thinking of writing a piece of music for it, flute and electronics.

Can anyone point me in any directions?

Type of questions I have:

Could I begin a Theremin part so that the player sounds an exact pitch
(example: a D#)?

What would be the feasible fastest note I should expect a Theremin player to
play? (could the player do Flight of the Bumblebees?)

Is there anywhere I could get this off the web?

Let me know and thanks,

Peter
