[sdiy] OT: MIDI phrase synth thing needed

I am looking for a box or software that will allow me to trigger midi 
sequences from the keyboard. not just a simple start/stop deal but something 
where each key has a sequence assigned to it and the sequence plays as long 
as the key is held. kind of like a sampler but for Midi data. any ideas?
