[sdiy] mis-soldered IC....

First check the IC type, most are NOT worth risking a PCB over.
The PCB save method is to cut all leads with a fine pitch cutter.
Then desolder the lose pins using a iron and a de-solder pump
(a spring loaded device, press the button to suck away the heated solder.)
If you _really_ need to save the IC, use a de-solder pump
and/or Litze-wire to remove all solder. Then remove the IC.
Work slowly give the IC time to cool often.
Litze is flat woven wire that you place on top of the solder you need to
remove, then heat both Litze and solder.
For removing ICs I prefer Litze over a de-solder pump, for removing 2 wire
components like resistors, I prefer the pump.
Nah, that's not completely true. I prefer to cut the leads to remove a IC.
A easy to get 0.50 Euro IC is not worth risking a PCB.

Argh!..... is there anything i can do

any chance of saving the chip?
