G'day Robert,
I built the BassAce as one of my first attempts at sDIY, and I am
very happy with. It has a hot sound, its pretty easy to mod, and the
CV's are all V/oct.
BUT - it is a very basic kit. There is very little in the way of
instructions (just parts list, schematic and tuning procedure) and
you will probably have to nut out a few small problems to get it
working 100%.
I havent built the fatman, but I have built other PAIA kits, and can
say that their instructions are VERY clear, step by step, very good
for a beginner. And there are a lot of mods for the Fatman on the web.
If you dont mind the learning curve I would recommend the BassAce.
hope this helps,
Paul
