The inverters to get the AC are simple, or you can just plug it right
into the wall (in North America, anyway). I'm pretty sure this is the
same stuff used for the electroluminescent LCD backlights which crap
out after about 2000 hours. About a month ago I disabled the mostly
dead backlight on my SY77 to get rid of the ubiquitous high-pitched
whine. I was actually going to try to replace the backlight with
stuff from this place (or anyplace I could find it cheap in small
quantities), but I'm way happier with a quiet synth than with a
lighted synth.
