[sdiy] DIY mod wheel?

Not online... but

I made a mod wheel using 1/4" lexan plastic. I cut the wheel with a hole
saw
(nice and round and you get the center hole at the same time.)

Then I broke a knob to get the brass bushing and setscrew... drilled a
long
hole through the edge of the plastic (to reach the setscrew...) and
epoxied the
brass bushing in place. Unlike many commercial mod wheels... its
indestructable
this way (unless your drummer get hold of it...)

To make a detent, I used the rubber wheel and spring assembly from an
old
cassette player... but most commercial units use a nylon wire clamp (the
kind used
to hold a wire bundle to a panel) because nylon is naturally "self
lubriacted" and
pretty tough stuff.

Gd Luck !
