Oh, sh*t.

Okay SDIY people, let me briefly tell you what this is all about.

Last night I won an auction for some TB303 pots on eBay. When I got the
confirmation message from eBay, I realised that the seller, Quinton Fulsom,
has been discussed on the S-DIY list and AH in the past, relating to some
bad trading experiences.

I immediately emailed Mr, Fulsom, expressing my concern about these 'bad
trader' reports. I quoted some _old_ emails, from the SDIY list, to him. I
was polite, and I didn't mean any disrespect at all. I was reasonable. Being
the guy I am, I simply wanted to let him have his say before I came to any
conclusion. Quinton quickly emailed me back, providing an explanation for
these mishaps, but understandably seemed upset. I emailed him back this
afternoon, explaining that my first impressions of him are actually GOOD,
but asked that he understood why I was initially apprehensive. To me the guy
seems pretty damn straight and I said that I would send him the money, but I
asked him if he would mind if I sent half the payment first of all, then
send the final payment once I received the potentiometers.

I'm not sure if Quinton realised that those messages I forwarded were dated
from quite a while ago. Netherveless, he has chosen to send this message not
only to myself, but to the entire SDIY list.

I even contacted the originator of the warning that appeared on SDIY lately
to confirm whether he eventually recieved his parts, which he did. I was
happy about this.

I didn't mean to upset the guy - he's probably trying to get things
straight, just for this to knock him back again. But what else could I have
done? I was understandably genuinely concerned about what I'd heard. I never
even refused to carry out the transaction. I just wanted his say, before I
made an opinion. Have I done wrong?

Trevor

mentalfuckingnote: check seller's details *before* bidding next time...
