You are right 115 kbits/s may be considered as slow. But it depends for what.
USB is too complexe for me and i would like something that run on linux too.
Meanwhile i had another idea (and many thanks to people who wrote and inspire
me).
Why not use directly a soundcard, with the stereo outs at 48khz ?
A channel sprouts 48000*16bits=768kbs
Let alone that some lowcost cards can have 4 outs.
PD can synthesize audio signals and could generate a signal composed from the
data i want to send to the cv outs.
One out of the soundcard will contain the interleaved datas and the other
channel will contain the clock for some mux's IC.
There is some testing to find good timings and the right audio waveforms.
(a pulse whom negative part would be inverted ?)
BTW What is the characteristic of the clock input for a 4051 ?
It seems far too easy to be honest, there should be a no-go somewhere !!! it
would be the simplest, cheapest, fastest midi cv/gate computer based
convertor :)
Please let me bring back to reality.
