Yes, very true for the A-80 too. It needs a lot of force.

Possibly yes.
The A-80 has a little brother, the A-50. Almost the same device, but
fewer and less heavy-weighted keys. The service manual applies to both.
There's one difference: the resistor that sets the aftertouch
sensitivity. I already changed it to the A-50 value to make it more
sensitive, but it still needs too much force for my taste.
But the fact that there are different sensitivities for the A-80 and the
A-50 is a hint that Roland didn't make them so unsensitive with the
intent to reduce the MIDI data traffic. Perhaps they thought, the more
piano-like A-80 is for players with "heavy" playing style.
