[sdiy] Enamel? Powdercoat? Screen?

In the US, you can visit the industrial coatings section of your Sherwin
Williams store. Products that are made to be great for metal require mixing
just before application with a Catalyst. I use Sherwin Williams Polane T
for my MOTM format conversions panels. I choose that because that is what
Paul uses. But, I found it to be extremely tough and somewhat expensive.
It requires a catalyst and reducer. And, the recommended primer requires a
different combo catalyst / reducer. By the time you get a gallon of that
coating and all the primer and stuff to mix in you have about $200 invested.
But, that will paint a lot of panels. :)

Two or three times a year, I take hundreds of metal pieces to my painter and
get a beautiful black, lightly textured finish. I suppose if someone had
some odd pieces they wanted painted (and you like black) I could throw them
into the mix.

I'm not a paint specialist, but I know there are some
pretty tough ones for metal coating.
