AFAIR, the rotary knob has slotted wheel with opto-couplers, and it's all
open design, so you have access to all parts. Try to move/bend one
optocoupler back and forth (change distance between the two optos) untill
you'll get satisfactory wheel response.

Or I may be totally wrong as I haven't looked into mine for a long time...

As for the foil, many companies are making custom panels. I remember few
years back someone offered on this list to make bunch of Source pannels.
They were supose to cost 100$ each. Don't know if it helps. Guess not.

""Hi all
""
""I get the idea that there is no way I will get a replacement membrane
""for my Moog Source, so I wondered if anyone out there had a work
""around or had any experience fixing this beasty. How about a complete
""overhaul replacement with close fitting buttons or something?
""
""Also, the rotary control knob is playing up - Sometimes not working at
""all - Is this done via Opto electronics? Anyone suggest a possible
""fix?
""
""Many thanks
