I have to totally agree with Paul.
Good ventilation, closed containers and protective clothing
go a long way to make most chemicals save to use.
But Nitric Acid is NOT one of them.
Probably best stay with FeCl3.
Seems to be the most environmentally friendly,
and doesn't form crystals which may cause trouble with some types
of etching machines.
