Hey, you could just put regular solder on a lead free spool and show him that.

or swap the stickers.

I guess the air filter thing could be the solder, for what I know.

Read up on it and let him know, because he may have some other problem with 
lead if it isn;t the solder, and he probably would be better off knowing 
about it.

maybe get a clean filter in your room and test it after soldering?
