i.e. four leads. Then you ground the center tap and you have clean zero.
Unfortunately, most centre tapped pots don't have a low enough
resistance from tap to wiper even when centred.
For 'critical' CV applications I would actually use a low offset VCA for
this job. The VCA would have to be configured as some sort of four
quadrant thing, but a 3280 would be very good in this application.
