Hi --
I've spent the holidays trying to repair a severely savaged Polysix --
the degree of difficulty was upped considerably by the fact that it
suffered not
only from the battery leak problem, but from somebody who really
had no idea what they were doing & attempting to repair it by such
interesting
techniques as soldering the +5 volt line to ground.
I've got the poor thing working again; have gone through the calibration
routine & have everything working correctly EXCEPT for the oscillator
scaling --
for some reason, I can't get the oscillators tuned to an octave; from C to
B is closer
to an octave than C to C'. The keyboard control voltages seem correct; I
can actually play a scale on the filters (set to self-oscillate), just
can't get the oscillators themselves to fall in line. (Also noticed that
the tuning goes wildly out of line if I touch the oscillator demux IC -- IC
31). I'm assuming the fault lies somewhere in the anti-log circuitry -- an
area I'm not too familiar with.
Any suggestions as to where to look & what to attempt? If so, please write
me offlist -- if we come up with a solution, I'll post it for the archives.
Thanks, as always.
