[sdiy] midi clock

i have this weird midi clock problem. i'm using my 909 to send midi clock to
my pc and studio, and to trigger an external midi-syncbox that sends out
sync to the linn drum.
now when i use the 909/linn combo alone, there's no problem. it syncs like a
charm. as soon as i hook up the second midi out to the studio, the sync to
the linn stops. it does this both when i use the 909's 2 midi outs, and when
i use a splitter box for th midi signal.
how is this possible? does the 909 stop sending clock as soon as it feels
there's more than 1 midi input conencted to it? the weird thing is sometimes
it does decide to work. i've changed cables, reset things, you name it.
any ideas?
