A friend of mine had a problem like this years ago with a somebody who
hung out with his friends and stole his guitar and amp and some other
stuff to pawn for for drug money.

If I recall correctly the matter was resolved with an aluminum
baseball bat and a number of broken bones..they can't exactly go
crying to the cops since it would land them in even more
trouble...assuming the location of said roommate is known.
