[sdiy] Plastic Panels...

I've read the replys, and I have to say that plastic IS
looking less useful, and I may be leaning towards plywood. The
main reason I call aluminum panels "expensive" is the punching and
painting process; I've never had anything near the experience with
metal (none at all really) as I have with cutting and drilling
wood, plus I already have the tools for doing both to wood.
Another reason I wouldn't want to use aluminum is that I have no
money since I'm still in school, but I can get plywood for free
(literally). I try to keep my building to the small scale and I
don't want to have to buy materials/services in bulk (a word I use
for anything that requires me to buy >$100usd to get).

I didn't really want anyone to base the suggestions on sizes
or anything because I don't really have layouts yet. I don't plan
to ever add commercial modules that I won't buy to my synth and I
won't be making the conventional type rack so I wanted to wait
until I had designs for my modules finalized before I picked a
size. Plus I may never "finalize" my modules, so I want to choose
a material which I won't be afraid to toss out and remake in less
than 10 minutes.

I probably would never have thought of using plywood, so
thank you whoever mentioned it! This list helps me with
everything! And I'm sorry aluminum-lovers, but I just can't use
yer metal at this point...
