I just realized that I almost had this experience last night, when
setting up for a show I plugged the output of my POD into the speaker
output of my Marshall.  And I hadn't even started drinking yet.  The
Marshall folks were clearly prepared for this situation since the
speaker output is a multiple :-) Fortunately I discovered my mistake
before flipping the standby switch.
