It depends what sort of volume you're doing and what you're shipping. I run a
business that does a good bit of shipping..I spent a lot of time
digging through cardboard recycling bins for various sized boxes,
which still makes sense if you're doing a lot of different sized
stuff. If you're selling numerous items of the same kind, you want to
just bit the bullet and buy a quantity of brand new cartons from a
carton manufacturer. depending on size, they're usually a dollar and
change a piece. They have the added benefit of being new and sturdy
rather than being beaten up from being shipped already. The bigger
issue is the packing material, that's where you start getting into
expense if you want really good stuff.
