Er, I did that already, and, after having done it, its not very much
fun. Timing issues and noise were all over the place. It worked, most
of the time.... Ugh. Started out with a 680? something UART, and went
from there, tristate logic and EEPROM masking galore. About 100+ 74xx
series ICs and twice as many amps at 12 volts as we started with, we
got a gate and CV out of it..

I cry when I think about all the frustration and more useable coding
experience I could have gained from not doing it.
