i learned soldering on the MOTM kits, which are very complete and easy to
follow and found the blacet kit to be of comparable ease. i haven't tried
the paia kits but have heard they're great also.
the frac-rac format has totally got me sold though. it's a great size for
oakley and ground-up DIY modules and happens to be one half of the wiard
size. because of this, i have often comtemplated "adjusting" two frac racs
to fit my one full-size wiard module next to a bunch of frac-rac stuff. i
guess i'd just rather buy a whole rac of wiard stuff instead. :)
if you adopt the MOTM format, you're basically constricted to MOTM, unless
you redo the front panel, like so many have done.
