    Take what John says about "safely enclosed in a box" seriously.  Power
supplies can not only be an electrical shock hazzard (duh!), but also a
fire hazzard.  Although it has only happened to me once, once is enough.
I had a power transformer fail (I think it shorted, but it was difficult
to do a post mortem) and catch on fire.  From that day on, I put
transformers inside of a metal box.
