No offense, but anything with transisters that need to
be matched could hardly qualify as the world's
simplest resonant filter design.

I think what they need is a PAIA 2700 series resonant
filter, now that is probably the world's simplest. In
fact, you can probably buy all the parts including
case knobs and jacks at radio shack for less than $20.
 The schematics used to be online but the last time I
checked the site they were on, the links were broken.
